The Three Wise Rabbits

Every year I make an illustration to say goodbye to the passing year and welcome the new one. I've been thinking about my intentions for this coming year and thinking about kindness. The Three Wise Rabbits are based on The Three Wise Monkeys which in many cultures embody principles of kindness.

Wishing everybody, everywhere lots of kindness to give and receive in 2013.

Happy New Year!

A Very Sad Day For All...

May we all find space in our hearts to bear the horror of what has happened, and to come together to end violence and choose love.

Dance is based on a random line I drew on the corner of my notebook. Before I knew it, this whimsical bunny had appeared on the page and was ready to dance. It is a bit hard to see online, but the paint has a little metallic shimmer to it.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from The Weekly Creature, posting from sunny Santiago, Chile. I know I'm really late with this one, but I was preparing for the trip on Halloween, and had no time to post.  Enjoy!

Tomatoes - take 2

A few weeks ago I posted a colored pencil version of this image. Here it is again, this version is painted with oils. The canvas is only 4x4, which made it a lot less intimidating to take on an oil painting. Enjoy!

if: Water

This week's Illustration Friday topic is water. Initially, I imagined fish, bubbles, and beautiful blue tones. But in reality, I'm much better at drawing bunnies than fish, and since it's Fall, here it is - an earthly bunny trying to stay dry under his umbrella. Enjoy!
